DESCRIPTION
WET-5180 is a multifunctional liquid corrosion and scale control treatment, designed to control corrosion and deposits in potable water systems. It is a blend of silicate, to protect systems from corrosion, and complex phosphate to control hardness mineral deposits. It provides corrosion control by forming a protective iron-silicate film on metal surfaces.

BENEFITS

  • Prolongs equipment life through reduced corrosion
  • Improves heat transfer efficiency through reduced deposition
  • Reduces restriction, plugging, and fouling through reduced deposition
  • Single treatment convenience
  • Easy to feed, test, and control

APPLICATIONS

  • Potable Water Applications - to protect potable equipment such as hot water tanks, heat exchangers, pipelines, pumps, etc. from corrosion and deposition.
  • Once-Through Applications - to protect process equipment using once-through cooling process, from corrosion and deposition.

DOSAGE
Feed WET-5180 to maintain a maximum residual silica level of 10 ppm, as required by the EPA/USDA for potable water applications. Use a suitable metering device to avoid exceeding this limit.

Initially, the product will be absorbed by the metal surfaces to form a film. Once the film is formed, any additional dosages become residuals. Therefore, initial dosages will usually be higher, while subsequent dosages will be lower.

Note: Dirty or contaminated systems should be drained, flushed, and chemically cleaned before treatment to get maximum results.

FEEDING
WET-5180 must be fed to the potable and process systems in direct proportion to make-up water usage. Slug feeding is not acceptable. It may be fed neat, directly from the drum, or in water dilutions up to 5%. Dilutions are stable for up to one month. Inject WET-5180 at a point of rapid water circulation. Mild steel, PVC, PP, and PE feeding and storage equipment is satisfactory.
